Dr. Wagner is a board-certified vascular surgeon at Sarasota Vascular Specialists in Sarasota, Florida. Dr. Wagner earned his undergraduate degree in health and social policy from the Annenberg School of Social Policy at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He then pursued a master’s degree in applied biomedical science at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS), focusing his research on the microvascular complications of diabetes. Dr. Wagner continued his education at EVMS, where he earned his Doctorate in Medicine.
Following medical school, Dr. Wagner completed his vascular surgery training at the prestigious Heart and Vascular Institute at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. During his residency, he conducted federally-funded research on novel dialysis access strategies and earned a master’s degree in clinical research from the University of Pittsburgh. As the Administrative Chief Resident, Dr. Wagner gained extensive experience in advanced vascular technologies, including fenestrated aortic endografts and minimally-invasive limb salvage procedures.
Dr. Wagner has presented his research at numerous national and international conferences and has published extensively in respected medical journals, including Annals of Vascular Surgery and the Journal of Vascular Surgery.
His clinical expertise encompasses both open arterial and venous surgeries, as well as endovascular techniques like balloon angioplasty, stenting, arteriography, and thrombolysis. He also specializes in minimally-invasive treatments for aortic aneurysms, pulmonary embolisms, and deep venous obstructions. He is a leading researcher in the areas of DVT and dialysis access.
Dr. Wagner is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art care to his patients and brings a wealth of experience in vascular surgery to Sarasota.
