Dr. Mishler has been a practicing interventional nephrologist since 1998 and began surgical vascular access training in 2004. He has been active in open avf and avg access creation and revision since that time. He has also been a primary investigator for several vascular device clinical trials. Dr. Mishler has delivered many national and international lectures and published several articles on the topic of vascular access surgery performed by nephrologists. He was awarded the ASDIN Life Time Achievement Award in 2016.
